Custom Development of Power Electronics Power Supplies and Contactless Power Transfer

Overview

Custom power supply development and technical support in the power electronics domain. Services span five areas: custom and special-purpose power supply development support; manufacture and sale of electronic components, chargers, and power supplies; power supply technical support; development consulting; and control/software development support. Coverage extends from concept and planning through to mass production, accommodating everything from sub-watt ultra-compact power supplies to systems exceeding 50 kW. The core technical pillars are analog-digital hybrid control and the integration of AC and DC power supplies. The company holds multiple patents covering power conversion equipment and its control, resonant converters, and DC/AC power supply units (some filed jointly with other companies).

Technical Features

  • LLC Resonant Converter: A resonant power conversion topology known for high efficiency. Patents held covering current-resonant DC-DC converters.
  • Contactless Power Transfer (Wireless Power Transfer): Power transmission based on the same principle as wound components such as transformers and coils. Supports both magnetic-field methods (electromagnetic induction and magnetic resonance) and electric-field methods, with “theory for transmitting power farther with high efficiency” as the central technical concept. In configurations using an LLC resonant power supply, 100 W is transmitted across a 1 cm air gap under optimally designed conditions.
  • High-Voltage DC Power Supplies: High-voltage supplies with outputs ranging from several kV to hundreds of kV. Target applications include particle accelerators, X-ray generators, and plasma generators. Patents held on DC power supply equipment.
  • Phase-Shift Full-Bridge DC/DC Converter: A topology that avoids the conversion-efficiency loss associated with conventional CR snubbers when using snubber circuits to suppress spike voltages across rectifier diodes.
  • Peripheral Circuit Technologies: Photocoupler-isolated gate drivers, three-phase bridgeless PFC controllers, LED lighting power supplies with power-factor correction, and battery chargers for electric vehicles and plug-in hybrid vehicles.
  • Development Support Boards and Modules: Modules with voltage detection circuits and FET driver circuits integrated onto PCBs. Supply of components including a simplified winding machine for switching transformer fabrication and bobbins for LLC power supplies.

Target Applications and Fields

  • High-voltage power supplies for particle accelerators, X-ray generators, and plasma generators.
  • On-board chargers for electric vehicles and plug-in hybrid vehicles.
  • LED lighting power supplies with power factor correction.
  • Contactless power transfer aimed at reducing cable connections between equipment.
  • Power supply development for specifications difficult to meet with off-the-shelf products, ranging from sub-watt ultra-compact supplies to systems exceeding 50 kW.

Scope of Services

  • Business Areas: Custom and special-purpose power supply development support / Manufacture and sale of electronic components, chargers, and power supplies / Power supply technical support / Development consulting / Control and software development support
  • Process: Consultation → Contract → Various design stages → Prototype assembly → Adjustment and evaluation → Delivery → Follow-up
  • Learning Kits: Experimental kits for wireless power transfer (magnetic-field methods: electromagnetic induction and resonance; electric-field method) and LLC resonant power supplies. Teaching materials designed for learning fundamental principles — including hands-on transformer design and winding, and volume-adjustable dead time and operating frequency controls.
