Automatic Irrigation Control System with Solar Radiation Sensor Integration

Overview

A system that combines solar radiation sensor readings with timer-based control to automate irrigation. The control panel maintains irrigation schedules with seasonal settings divided into up to 12 periods per year (on a monthly basis), incorporating solar radiation sensor input into its control logic. The system connects to the cloud via LAN / 3G / LTE / Wi-Fi and supports remote monitoring and configuration through a smartphone monitoring app.

Technical Features

  • Hybrid timer + sensor input control: An irrigation scheduling approach that overlays solar radiation sensor readings onto pre-configured irrigation plans.
  • Monthly seasonal settings: The year is divided into up to 12 segments, with a distinct irrigation plan defined for each month.
  • Connected and standalone operating modes: In connected mode, plans are distributed and updated via the cloud; in standalone mode, the control panel continues to operate independently of network availability.
  • Cloud connectivity and smartphone app: Cloud integration via LAN / 3G / LTE / Wi-Fi, with remote monitoring and configuration through a smartphone monitoring app. An RS232C connection option is also supported.
  • Multi-zone control via multiple ports: Models with 2, 4, or 16 ports—plus expandable configurations—allow solenoid valves and pumps to be controlled on a zone-by-zone basis. Port configurations with solar power support are also available.
  • Vertically integrated development: End-to-end in-house capability spanning concept planning, circuit and PCB design, 3D-CAD-based mechanical and enclosure design, component procurement, and manufacturing.

Control Logic (Seasonal Settings × Solar Radiation Sensor → Irrigation Decision)

Intended Applications

  • Multi-circuit control for environments where irrigation requirements vary by zone, such as green walls and rooftop greening installations.
  • Automation and labor reduction for irrigation scheduling in greenhouse horticulture and open-field cultivation.
  • Operational optimization of irrigation schedules that account for solar radiation conditions.

Key Functions and Configuration

  • Control method: Timer control + solar radiation sensor input (intelligent timer)
  • Schedule: Up to 12 seasonal periods per year, set on a monthly basis
  • Operating modes: Connected mode (cloud-integrated) / Standalone mode
  • Communications: LAN / 3G / LTE / Wi-Fi; RS232C (optional); smartphone monitoring app
  • Outputs: Solenoid valves / pumps; multiple ports (2 / 4 / 16) + expandable configurations; solar power compatible
